Road to a Model......Part Three....

A small shoot today. We needed some plain shots. So it was just white t-shirt and jeans today. It’s a lil chilly in NY right now and we shot outside on the roof of the studio. It wasn't too bad. We only stayed out for like 15 mins or so. I tried to take advantage of being in the cold, as I know there will be more days like this. I want to be as prepared as a model as possible. I think we are just a few shoots away from having a decent looking full portfolio.

In all I'm getting more and more comfortable shooting. I have only shot with Briian, so I'm eager to see how working with other photographers will pan out. We also set-up my modelmayhem.com page today. We're just waiting on the approval and I should be good to go.

Success is Amongst Us.........

The lovely love from Boys and Clothes , Teneille wrote this dope letter to Success . So dope that Success had to write back, but hop over to B+C to read Teneille's letter first.....that'll make more sense......

Hey Teneille,

Success here, how are you? Heard through the grapevine you have some interesting thoughts about us. If you haven't noticed, I've been checking you out lately....well actually for a minute now, but definitely more lately. As you've matured you've become more and more attractive. I'm strangely particular about people I come into contact with. But with you, you give us vision. I can see us hand and hand shedding our influence on the world. I can tell you want to help people; we would make such a great team. The more I think about you, the more I want us. I really hope you don't think I'm just playing hard to get. It's just that in the past, I have committed myself to others. Some even gave all that I could offer, but a lot of the time I'd end up just getting abused. Now I'm not jaded or anything, but I do try to take my time and get to know more of the person. This is why, even though we've met a few times, I've been reserved. Teneille I want you to know that I am very interested in you. I want to see what we can build together, but I have to warn you. When I come, I come hard, so I hope you're ready. I only ask that you be prepared for when opportunity knocks. You'll never know what will be on the other side......

Melo-X.......Da God....

I sit in this Saturday brunch hour appreciating life as art in the form of music, as it is performed through the soul of a Melo-X. Melo is one of the illest artist around. His lyrics are b-boy poetic. His swag is generation pop-art. His dress is melo squared. The scene is cough medicine ill. I'm just happy to be here ya know.......

He puts me in a place where I know good music exists. There are no worries or concerns. I'm able to let my guard down. I enter Melo's world as if I belong.....he is that inviting. As I enter I am greeted with an energy that suggest this isn't our first meeting, so I guess......it’s nice to meet ya. I am excited and relieved. I sit down and open just my ears. My literal vision is darkness, but I see Melo on a stage and this is my first time seeing him perform. The ambience is Brooklyn-Hard, so being from The Bronx I am appreciative. I smoked before I got here, but I have a clip left. I pull out the napkin that the clip is wrapped in and join the night's cipher. Melo's crowd is more like a union of dope emcees who don't rap. We each hold our own stage. And might I add the only race that matters here is Hip Hop........all colors and sizes, but one Hip Hop.

Melo blasts off with joints recreating vibes of yester-year. His samples are artfully picked and fit right into the perfect groove. Groove is a great word for Melo, as it hints at a classic stint in time, yet the delivery is right on point. It's like being at a dope house party and the DJ is rocking the whole night. Shit.....he even stops the music for a sec because dude keeps bumping the table.

Melo-X is a front-runner in our generation's elite. Not bound by boundaries, Melo dives into the pool of life reciting his own lyrics.....literally. The average sees the beard and thinks Philly. Others see a path, not walked by many. They see an artist who creates movement through music and vision, and they fuck with it. It's apparent he's authentic and they feel the same......shit we feel the same. I fucks with it Melo. I know a place too, and it's where we're at today and where we're going tomorrow. And we don't have to worry.......Melo is conducting this. Let's hop into the Renaissance.

Question the vultures who only read titles and headlines, and then write their own articles. Fuck with those who molest your soul in a positive way. Take their gems and wear em across your heart. Love thy neighbor in a pair of Adidas. Capture moments of those who put spin on life and force you to move. Society suggests looks, the ill create them. Melo is sick........There is no treatment. He creates his own medicine. Fortunate for we, he shares with us.

Road to a Model.......Part Two.....

So we had the shoot Saturday. The shoot was on my mind all day. I'm really taking this serious and want to do my best. I started buying a few magazines, so that I can watch other models and pick up a few tips. There is a heavy emphasis on the eyes. Everyone's eyes seem focused, like you can get the emotion they're conveying straight from their eyes. I will keep this in mind. It’s funny, now when I'm in the bathroom or alone near a mirror, I try practicing different looks and delivering emotion through my eyes.

No one has asked me this yet, but I'm sure someone will someday down the line.......why am I modeling or want to be a model. Since I'm the forecaster that I am, I shall beat them to the punch. Besides other people asking if I had already modeled, modeling is another form of artistic expression. I'm fascinated by becoming another character. It’s an escape for me. You put on certain clothes and they to talk you. I look in the mirror and start to become the character that I am feeling. It also helps when I'm given direction. Again this is all the beginning, so we'll see what changes as I go on further.
In all 3rd shoot was dope or as the boy Briian says......Dopenesss! We're getting some great shots. I actually have a new favorite.
